Important: DogHealthStack is an educational resource. Jared White is a systems thinker and dog owner — not a veterinarian. Nothing here is a substitute for veterinary care. Always consult your veterinarian before changing your dog's diet, supplements, medication, exercise routine, or care plan.

Why this site exists

Dog health advice is overwhelming and contradictory. One source swears by a food, another warns you off it; an influencer promotes a supplement, a forum calls it useless. Most of it answers a single narrow question — what should I buy? — and almost none of it helps you think clearly about the whole picture.

DogHealthStack exists to change the question. Instead of "what should I buy?", we ask: what health system should I build for my dog? Because dog health is not one product. It's a system — nutrition, weight, movement, preventive care, and monitoring all working together over years.

Why systems matter

The factors that are associated with longer, healthier dog lives interact. A lean body weight makes exercise easier; exercise supports a lean weight; both reduce strain on the joints; preventive care catches the problems that would derail all of it. Improve one piece in isolation and you leave most of the value behind. Build them as a connected system and they compound.

That systems-thinking approach is the whole point of DogHealthStack — and it's organized through a framework we call Doggevity: twelve connected pillars of dog health and longevity, built together rather than bought piecemeal.

Luna's role

Luna is the site's mascot and the living inspiration behind Luna's Lab. Most affiliate sites are faceless. DogHealthStack is built around a real dog and a real owner trying to make better decisions.

Every recommendation passes one test: would we build it into Luna's stack? When we test something, the honest results — including what didn't work — go into Luna's Lab. Luna isn't a stand-in for your dog or your vet. She's a real, honest example of the systems approach in practice.

Who's behind it

DogHealthStack was created by Jared White, a systems thinker and dog owner with a background in health optimization, longevity research, and building practical, evidence-aware resources. Jared brings a systems lens to a space that badly needs one — but it's important to be clear about what he is and isn't.

Jared is not a veterinarian. DogHealthStack does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and never pretends to. What it offers is a clear way of thinking, organized information, and honest real-world testing — all designed to make you a better-informed partner in conversations with the professionals who are qualified to care for your dog: your veterinary team.

The Doggevity framework

At the center of everything is the Doggevity system — our framework for helping owners think clearly about a longer, healthier dog life. It organizes dog health into twelve pillars, from nutrition and weight to mobility, preventive care, monitoring, and senior support. It's a checklist for thinking, not a shopping list, and it's the backbone of every guide on this site.

How we stay honest

DogHealthStack is affiliate-supported — we may earn commissions when readers buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. But recommendations are organized around practical systems, safety, value, and the questions to discuss with your vet — not around what pays the most.
